I don't know where people get the idea that it is a magic cure. I'm still deaf when I take it off. People really have to learn about them to understand it. It is complicated.
That's true, and I hope someday the documents of C.I. side effects will spread the word out to the parents. Therefore, it will decrease business of C.I.'s.. Finger cross....
Hear, hear, I agree with the title, (but don't understand ASL). Even after nearly two decades of training, I still don't understand all of the spoken language very well and I fool people into thinking that I am hearing. :\
Support and use ASL!
I am from deaf family and graduated at California School for the Deaf, Riverside in 1995. I have deaf parent, one deaf brother and several deaf uncles, aunts and cousins. I have a wonderful wife with three awesome kids. My first two kids are boys. They are tough, but compassion toward our daughter.
Graduated with B.S. Degree in Information Systems Security.
