One label for all develops a better unity. I am sure that CODAs are very proud to be ASLAN. I know many people who are implanted, cued, or orally really want to learn ASL ,and we need to give up our time and be their friend. We can help them learn ASL. They will teach us many things than just ASL. I know they are beautiful people. And they don't need to be labeled as "not enough deaf". I won't care about it and I will be so glad to be their friend! The deaf community is really small. Know what I mean?

Deb Ann,

Exactly my point, we don't need to have the phase of "Not deaf enough." Instead of the negative perspective. We can say people who are cued, see, oral and other people who haven't learn ASL. When they being to learn ASL from us, they are beginner of ASLAN. That phase sound more positive than "Not deaf enough." As long they respect ASLAN's circle. The ASLAN define using ASL without speaking. If they disagree, then they are welcome to stay where they are. Bottom line, I am trying to get out of "Crab Theory." Jon Savage did give great vlog about "Crab Theory." It takes efforts to learn ASL. It is not easy journey, but it can be done. :)
