What if a block of houses with all Deaf Neighbors have VPs and call at same time?

In theory, your example is possible if the local substation for the ISP service is overtaxed. In that case, the ISP will need to respond to the needs of the customer base in that area by adding more trunks.

But, just because everyone on the same block is Deaf and uses VP doesn't mean they're all using the same ISP service. :-) Some use DSL, some use Cable, etc.

Good examples to look at are Colleges/Universities (especially dorms) and ISPs in heavy downtown locations like NYC and Chicago. They do use heavy bandwidth consumption (especially students), so it is possible to remedy if the home area has problems as well.

You can bark at cable company to increase the bandwidth because you are paying the price to have those specified speed.

If you are talking about DSL, you are getting the direct line.

If you are talking about FiOS, you are not worried about others.

Or, Or, Or, you are screwed.

Bryen: The odds of having different ISP in my area are 50 percent. We have only two different ISP, Cable and DSL. Since it is not plenty options, the clog in bandwidth may happen when a block of houses with Deaf people. High chance we may have problem with either ISP. Like Judge said, "Or you are screwed." :)

Judge: I have Cable and they keep making an excuse with my bandwidth based on my neighbors' usage. My service suppose to be 12MB download and 2MB upload, but I am getting 6 to 8MB download and 900k upload. It frustrated me, but it was in past and based on this experience. What happen if a block of houses with full of Deaf people?

My current speakeasy speed test show that I have 13.8MB download and 1.8MB upload. I am satisfied. :)

I have used cable internet also currently using DSL internet, the DSL internet to my experience is more stable than the cable.
I currently have the lowest speed choice that my DSL provider offers and do not have much problems.
