Did you know that my ASL Vlog is DeafBlind friendly?

Look at the second video and click on the symbol of monitor. It will turn my vlog to a full screen vlog. Is it great? Yes, it is. :)

Awesome! I could see your zit sitting on your left cheek. No! Just kidding! I will check blip.tv and figure out how to embed this large screen on my post. Thanks for making efforts to work with Deaf-Blind community and to share the tips with us.

yea, i'd like to listen what DB's say about the full-screen. good or nay?

also, the overstream doesn't support blip.tv so that'll be one way that thiefs wouldn't use vloggers' videos and alter them without their consents. oh, people!

Yeah, I wonder if a large sized screen helps? YouTube also offers this feature where you get to click on the right handed symbol to get a full screen. Yes, there are different kinds of DB. We are learning big time.

Aidan, (covering my zit, blushed) :)

brenster: Can you clarify on "Oh People"?

Blip.tv does protect vloggers' rights. They have automatic license all video to person who develop them. Anyone who steal person's video from blip.tv will face lawsuit protected by blip.tv. Youtube don't have the protect for vloggers.

Overstream's statement about support...
--------------------------------------
Currently, Overstream supports the following video providers: YouTube, Google Video, MySpace Video, Dailymotion, Veoh (*) and Megavideo. This list will continue to grow. If you are a video provider who would like to appear in this list and give your users the possibility of overstreaming your videos, please write to integration@overstream.net and get integrated in no time.
--------------------------------------

Bottomline, overstream welcome anyone who use another video host than listed in their list. Blip.tv aren't listed doesn't mean overstream will not support blip.tv. We can ask them to support it. My focus that DeafBlind can use full screen to see my ASL Vlog without need a subtitles or transcripts.

galaxyangelz: Sorry, I should add url on my blog. Its www.blip.tv. :)

You are right that there are ALL kinds of deaf-blind people. However, FYI..deaf-blind people have asked for transcripts as well..not all of them, but some do rely on transcripts.

Another benefit of transcripts is that it allows people to read your blog on pagers that don't play back video.

Just my 2 cents...

Hi Aidan,

As a Deaf-Blinder, I commend you for your efforts at research. Much of what you said is based on good research, and that's important.

You're right about the full screen. It does help those with limited vision. However, as you pointed out, there are many different types of people with vision loss.

In your list of types, you basically dismissed those with no vision as not applicable. Actually, they are just as applicable as all others. For them, use transcripts. Why? Braille readers. Forgot about them? :-)

I'm sure when you are vlogging, you want to get your message out to people. Otherwise, you wouldn't waste your time vlogging. Totally blind Deaf people are just as much an equal part of Deaf community as everyone else.

Again, thank you and I commend you on your research.

JJ: Some people can't do transcripts or subtitles as fast as others and many vloggers have stop do the vlogs. Is it fair? Bottom line, I can't make everyone happy, but move on. Therefore, I focus on what I can do and keep vlogging.

Hello bryen, its Aslpride, not Aidan. :)

I did point out that complete deaf-blind have a person who sign for them on different vlogs. What I am trying to do is give vloggers an option that they can use. Right now, not many people can do transcripts or subtitles in minutes. It is very important for us to move on and discuss on many issues without any barriers on deaf people who can't do transcripts or subtitles in minutes as others. It is not fair for other vloggers stop making vlogs because they can't provide transcripts or subtitles. We need to focus on "Move on" with many issues. That's way we can go beyond from where we are and we will pull those people to the beyond, too.

aslpride-

since the overstream service supports YouTUBE and a few others, it is EASY for ANYONE to 'steal' others' videos and put subtitles on them without their permissions. one person just did it today, oh and also yesterday. that's why i said, 'oh people' bc they have no respect toward the ownership of video clips!

i know that is not really related to your topic (smile), but i just wanted to comment about one of advantages for using blip.tv to store videos (protection of copyrighted works) besides high quality, and wide screen option.

:-)
