If the name of the agggregator is ASLView or SignView instead of DeafRead, then signing vlogs will be accepted only. It is DeafRead. Anything under the DEAF sun. Catch the drift?
As I had mentioned in someone's blog, the various issues and posts do wax and wane. Believe me, vlogs do go up and down.
I share your concern right now. Encourage more vlogs!
Traffic goes up and down all the time and the number of vlogs can vary over time. Creating vlogs is more time consuming than typing up blogs, so the number of vlogs is greatly dependent upon the availability of free time the vloggers have.
My theory is that it may because a disproportionate part of the audience/bloggers/vloggers are involved in an academic settings (Deaf schools, elementary, middle, high, colleges, universities, students, teachers, staff).
A (big?) portion of DeafRead traffic may come from this educational group so likely goes up during their free time and goes down when they are busy. I have not verified this yet, so don't take this as gospel :-)
Anyway, to answer your question, yes, Tayler and I have reached several decisions. There will be some changes made at DeafRead. We need a bit more time to complete the changes before making our announcement public.
Yes it appears that way but I think it is always up and down and many other reasons. For example, about me, I was not involved in Deafread for a few months and now I am back.
For mission statement, I think it can be changed/revised/adjusted gradually.
In my opinion, I think Deafread has been changed gradually and I do not think it is status quo. It just added Deafread extra, and changed some and so on.
One thing I am impressed with you is that you are a true Deafread supporter and want to make it successful for vloggers as well as bloggers.
yes, i noticed that yesterday but it was valentine's day and also this weekend is "holiday." so, i'll wait for a little bit more while and see if it continues that way.
deafread, i hope the changes include the voting system in Extra, because there have been way too many non-related posts being moved to main page. 5 votes = too easy. either change the way it is voted or remove it completely.
Indeed, the people at the conference have spoken. They are fed up with the nonsense from certain people against ASLAN community. People want to see positive promotion, learning, and information sharing tied with ASL culture. I am waiting for a new ASLAN centric aggregator so I can join instead of conforming to the cushion of "neutrality" by DR people. Their days of reign are numbered.
I cannot see vloggers' feelings about their prevouisly who bullying expose their comment the message.. Effect them stop using vlogger. Im not sure if did.. I just came here few months ago and thought popluation pretty good dwell so far, but wasn't realized that prevouis who vloggers really awful lot of people were here until today changed less.
That what I read Jared's comment and probably make sense. Their timing isn't permit and have make their vlog and post it here, due their business matter or other. isn't my business.. By the way Vlogger will come back here again when have a good time. Probably that reason.
Needless, I cannot even say more anything so many different issues related to Vloggers' timing or forget not coming back for Deaf Read. Hopefully One day, whoever vloggers will change their heart and coming back here least vlogger can change their preferences as such not allow "anonymous user make comment" even not know who this person.. Hard identify.
Like you did put mode on "This blog does not allow anonymous comments." Probably vloggers forgot turn mode on for this one or doesn't even care welcome anonymous comments here. Just My thought...
Thank you for sharing your feedback. Most of you mention that vloggers might not have time to do it. As I claim that some bloggers give a guilty trip to vloggers about subtitles or captions cause them give up on vlogs.
Jared, remember the last year with vlogs, we did have vlogs numbers more than blogs. Past few months, the blogs increased double fold while vlogs cut in half. Again, it is my opinion based on my observation.
I just want to see ASL vloggers to be protected from oppressors. It seems that whenever ASLAN goes, the oppressors always find a way to jump on us for any reason.
cnkatz: I understand about "Deaf" that welcome anyone with status of deafness, but from what I see, ASLAN doesn't have protection from people who continue give negative on ASL in DeafRead. Sometime it is oblivious that they did, but sometime they did it in hidden message. I feel that it should be enough and allow ASL vloggers feel free and share whatever they want.
GalaxyAngelz: Yes, anonymous commenters are partly factor of some vloggers has left the DeafRead. I did make a vlog about anonymous commenters and make my own stand on it. :)
Again, my hope for ASL vloggers is free from any oppressors or demeaning.
Support and use ASL!

my free thoughts :-)
I second the first commenter.
We need to encourage more vlogs just that it's very enjoyable and relaxing, but we still keep everyone on Deafread and need a good balance.
