Responding as a blogger, not as a DeafRead editor

First of all, I am impressed with the burst of energy and creativity you have Vlogging ten to 12 times in one afternoon frequently is amazing

I like your idea of putting one or two vlogs per day. That way the readers don't get overwhelmed and pay less attention to the remaining vlogs, resulting in the loss of your messages. This is from my experiences as a blogger.

Keep up with good work. I enjoy watching your ASL vlogs :)

I only feel overwhelmed by numbers of vlog posts per day, even per a week sometimes. So I agree with MZ about break up vlog posts to few as possible per day.

As for the timing for the video clip itself, personally, I doesn't care as long as you hold my attention from the start to the ending *shrug*. Unfortunately there're weak-minded people who become impatient after acertain amount of time. As people had been saying over the time, it depends on the audience you are trying to reach out to :).

I defentily say keep limit to 2 per day.. 1 per day is better.

After Deaf Read conference I did alot in just little time.. and now I wish I kept some and posted them later in future.. to stretch it out :)

I know personally if a vlogger I enjoy posts like 3-4 vlogs in one day, I am likely to just watch 1-2 and come back other day to watch the rest.

Seems you and Coach Creech have hot competition to see who wins most FREQUENT vlogger!

Cheers!
Roger

Suggestion on English: "I wonder what is your preference on the timing of my vlog insert at DeafRead?"

It should be spread out. The reason why is because blogs/vlogs have a very short shelf life. People get most of their notifications about new postings through DeafRead or other RSS methods.

After 1 or 2 days, your posting goes to bottom of list and then even off the list depending on the feeders. So if you do so much in one time, the things you say will only be heard one day. Spread it out, keep the message going for many days. SUSTAIN!

AFAIK, game shows film all their stuff in one day, and spread the individual episodes across the week. Of course, it's harder to keep a secret if someone keeps on winning and winning, like that Jennings fella on Jeopardy!. :)

Maybe you should do the same; film all your stuff at once, and then distribute them one by one, over a period of time.

Oh- Try to keep your video entries short, around 2 minutes or less. (Some have patience for 3, 4, or 5 minutes. I guess some people feel differently.)

Hello everyone, one or two vlogs per day is sufficient as my statistics show the proof. :)

I did have highest number of people view on my 10 vlogs on one day than my previous days statistics, but based on average per video. It is low than my other vlogs. The comments reduced when I placed extra vlogs on same day. Bottom line, all of you are right that one or two vlogs per day is complete sufficient for us. :)

Actually, the work to record myself into a video is not much of work because I cheat little bit. All my thinking about a vlog has been noted in my mini book. I did 10 vlogs in an hour, but it takes about 2 hours to encoding them. :( The total work is about 3 hours. The most thinking period has happen during driving, relaxing, nature call break and in bed. What? Yes, sometime when I went to bed and my mind still continue function on what I want to say on vlog. :)

todd: What I have to say, then I will say it. It can be one minute or five minutes, but it is important that I keep my audiences interesting in my topic. One of my friends told me that one of my vlog is 7 minutes long, but to him, it is like 3 minutes video. Bottom line, if you find my vlog as boring because it is too long, I won't feel offend if you click on "X" mark. :)

GalaxyAngelz: ooo, did I detect a jealously from you? Just kidding. I did mention that it is not hard to do many vlogs as long I keep writing a note in my mini book. To be honest without my mini book, I will not able to do many vlogs as I did past two months. Last year, I only can do 35 vlogs for 2007 and I didn't use mini book. My brother recommend me to keep notes in a book to remember what to say on next vlog after I told him that my bad habit that I can't remember what I did thought a message to say on my vlog. That small tip from my brother cause me to do 60+ vlogs in two months. My brother is a hero for my progress in my vlogs. :)

Smile... DeafRoger, I believe the most vlogs on the month of Feburary will be award to ASLPride. Let's take a look at the numerous he already post on Feburary about 29 during mine's only 20.. *Grins* I do not feel overwhelmed if there's large of number on Vlogs because it really thrilled for me to read all of the vlogs during my work. (Grins) It does not matter to me how many vlogs insert at DeafRead.
