That is very interesting statement you've made. For me i wouldn't pick neither of them. As a baby, the parent decide to put CI on it, that will help for their benefit, but for the child wouldn't like it until that child is old enough to make decision. The first part you mentioned is more appropiate way for deaf child decide to have it, but then later regret it. He or she should have done the research extensively and weigh the pro and con before make a decision to have CI.
By the way, for your comment i will choose the first part of your story for that person's condition. I rather grow up and decide for myself and feel no regret for it.
Interesting question! I hardly can choose! I only have one thought that no one should make a decision to CI until that Deaf child is 18 years old and make his/her own decision. I am saying this because the research clearly showed that if a child knows two languages, they will be more educated and intelligent people. Therefore we should encourage Deaf children to learn ASL and English. Then Deaf people's lives will be much better! In this case, we will not have any regrets for learning/knowing two languages!
Very Intersting question! There no regret for it. Please would you like take off your feet on your table. I bother of that shoes on the table. I am sorry just tell you. Thanks.
Support and use ASL!
